    Simple Ribbon Bar. Any Issues?

I could sure use your help. This looks to be pretty straight forward. Are the sword devices what they should be?

    Thanks!
    Mark

Do you have a reverse shot by chance? If there's problems, that usually tells the tale. Ian & others can confirm the ek clasp device. First glance I'd say it's ok!

Hi James, I haven't been able to even get in and post for about 4 hours. The backing is pretty crude. Here is the reverse.

Hi Mark, the only obvious thing I see is that the single eagle like that should be silver for 4 years service rather than gold for 12 years BUT I've seen a few which were the same. The EKII Spange looks fine to me (it's certainly not the most common fake) as does the rest of the bar.

          Mark,
The only problem I see is that this bar should have been in the package you mailed to me this morning!

            Hi Ian,

Thanks for your reply and comments. Regarding the eagle device, let's assume that the man was an Officer, a Major in 1940, wouldn't it be likely that he did have 12 year's service and a Gold Eagle on the Ribbon? Reason I cite that specific case is that I need a ribbon bar for an early war Officer's tunic I already have.

            Regards,
            Mark

              Dale,

That package was already 'stuffed to the gills'! No more room!

Hi Mark, officially he would have the silver for 4 AND the gold for 12 ... then when he got the silver for 18 years he would also have the silver for 4 years on the bar, 25 years he also wore the 12 year gold eagle.

                    Hi Ian,

Thanks for the explanation and images to clarify. All this and, ALAS, I just went to purchase it and it has already been sold.

                    Regards,
