Dear Jeff,

Here is the badge close up. It was awarded ca 1939 until 1944 to people in key positions serving the economical war effort. Difficult to describe for me in English. People with merits and important functions in the war industry.

Here is the pic I came up with (source Klietmann) montaged into your photograph. A good match, also the size (smaller than war badges or most sports badges) speaks for this badge. The guy also looks like he could be one of those Wehrwirtschaftsführer.

Reading my Angolia tonight I came across this (obscure) badge. This might be the rarest photo I own given the scarcity of this award.
