opinions on paint please

hey Guys, Glenn here. I asked this question yesterday but I took better pics of the badge today so you could get a better look. it is marked on the reverse "3". I know the maker. what puzzles me is the reverse side is duller than the front. is this the way these were painted or this makers style? I cannot see any signs of a re-paint. I do not wish to have any altered pieces in my collection so please let me know any thoughts you have about this piece. thanks, Glenn

unfortunatly the pics dont show the cotrast in color/shade but atleast you can see the detailing of the badge. Glenn

Is it silver or black? It is hard to tell from the flash. Hopefully, it is black.

It's a nice Wound Badge by Wilhelm Deumer. The painted finish looks fine on both the front and back.
