Yup, Gerd, esp. the one in post #7. He was in the party for 25+ years while at the same time serving in the military for 40+ years.
In WW2, he got the very little known eastern-death's-head-single-bone-legged award probably conferred only posthumously... 
Sadly, he got nothing from WW1 except for the Turkish Liakat. Must be a Turk! (or a Türke??)
