What would be the value of a near mint Deutsche Volkspflege 3rd class with ribbon and red case ?
Are they being reproduced and if so what should I look for in an original award (makermark...) ?

Hi Kris,
I would say $600, if mint like mine, is a fair price for a cased one - these are rarer than you think with the case. IMO the case is worth as much as the award itself. Everything is reproduced to a degree so you you must be very careful when choosing to purchase this award, just as you would when shopping for anything 3rd Reich! The maker of my award was GODET, as can be seen on the bottom of the case.

This mark is located in the top ( near the hinge ) center of the case bottom.

Thanks for the info. The price of the first one is a bit more than 600 U$ but not much. I will post another medal but I am not sure if it's real. I don't like the detail of the eagle and the medal ring seems a bit thin. The text on the case looks a bit rough too.
Any toughts about this one ? It's for sale on Weitze's site.
