Hi Sergey going of the style of lettering to the reverse, I would have my doubts about this medal. The front also appears to have some type of marking in betweeen the gap where the two legs cross? I had one of these awards mine was the laid back G type and although original i sold it as there is just too much uncertainty and from the early two accepted originals, variations seem to be appearing. So i guess you just have to asked yourself if you are happy with it, as oppinions vary. All the best

I have an Austrian Anschluss medal with a similar odd mark between the figures.

That's why I'm not keen on this type. When you bear in mind how many were issued (the number escapes me at the moment) they should be rare.

                  About 30,000 + isn't it ? (31-33,000) Something like that.

You made a good point on the bars and the subsequent details of such of them in relation to those not on bars.

Issued compared to manufactured, in the region of a mutiple of three perhaps ???

The bar versions in their accepted forms has always had that, digging doubt effect on me......it's apoint hard to elaborate on or even further speculate for me. Even, though I prevail with this 'open mind' approach.

But, there are versions and differences in the other Aust & Czech medals, width of rim, details (eagle, swas, the guys), size of lettering etc etc etc

I think with even all considered, with have a pin prick of info on these, and then the pin is somewhere in the hay stack.

It would be good to have a dedicted page on these, all versions dubious or not, and known fakes and those evident on bars etc.

Check out the Association Members Forum and a thread by Francois, anyone care up for the challenge for a page on these, the good the bad and dubious ?

It looks pretty good to me.

I have one very similar and a while ago I weighed and measured it and it was exactly the same as the 'laid back' 'G' version measurments (I forget where these measurements were posted) which seemed to imply that both items were made of the same metal.

Different die obviously, but a quality item nevertheless.

As stated previously, these variations may be found on quite a few well known dealer sites.

                    Regards ...

Still looks different from my Memel, note the lack of the 'backwards R' in the area between the legs.

Glenn in few weeks it will be ready my work of 50 pages about only the Memel medal, so after you will compare and understand (I hope!) more than 12 identified makers, for slanted and straight G.
IMO this pattern is a good original one made with the same dies as those produced by Steinhauer & Luck.

Please, post the back of the Memel you showed, because from this picture I think you have a nice and rare "Straight G 3" made from "Mayers".
