    Another medal bar question

If I see a medal bar which indicates military service in both World Wars (e.g., one with a 1914 EK 2 and a 1939 Wiederholungsspange), shouldn't long service awards on such a bar indicate at least enough service to cover that time span? I mean, if I see a bar with such an EK combination but only long service awards indicating 12 or even 18 years of service -- would that be a red flag?

The guy could have been recalled and not served in the military the whole time.
Here's a bar to a guy recalled in WW2 with a 25 year civil award but no military long service awards.

I also understand that if the man was a reservist then long service awards did not apply (at least that's what a RTK told me when I asked him why he had none).

Rich is correct - Officers d.R. were not eligible for LS awards in the TR era.
