Eagle Order - Opinions Please

Hello all,

I'm working on a display for a good customer and fellow collector. He sent me some medals to frame and asked - while I had them in hand - to post some pix of the Eagle Order shown here. His main concern I think is the color of metal...it is more of a bronze than a bright gilt/gold. I know next to nothing about these, but can say that the detail is very good and the quality of the enamel work is just about perfect.

The cross is fine. The colour is due to the oxidisation of the silver under the fire or mercuric guilding. This can be returned by gently rubbing with a cotton bud. EXTREEM CARE HAS TO BE UNDERTAKEN when doing this because the guild can be removed. My advise is to leave well alone if not expert in this method.

Thanks to you both for your responses and advice. I'll pass them along and suggest that he leave the medal as-is to prevent problems down the road.
