    Marksmanship lanyard w/projectiles.

    Greetings,

Here is a lanyard that has two projectiles, not acorns. I searched this forum and didn't find similar projectiles. What type of lanyard would this one be?

Sorry for the awful picture. I will take a better one later this summer. Thanks, -d.

...I was refering to the shells versus the acorns being used by other branches, and not necessarily the specific lanyard these are mounted on in the posting. However, photos show that Panzer troops at times wore the basic lanyards (may have been what they were given or all they culd get...or they borrowed for picture sittings) and certainly the Panzerjaeger did. Sorry if I was not clear.

              Panzer lanyard

Until late 1938 each successive Panzer award was indicated by the addition of a matte-aluminum acorn. An order dated Oct.17/38 however, stated that a small representation of a tank turret would replace the acorn for Panzer troops and the lanyard plaque would carry a tank within the wreath, surmounted by an eagle and swastika. But on Oct. 19/38 the above order was rescinded and in place of the miniature tank turret, a metal aluminum-clored artillery shell was to be utilized. The tank motif on the plaque was retained however.
