        Hi Bob,

I know but where is the fun in that for you? I dont want to take that all away
You can compare yourself with the OM50 and OM60 here (if they both exist):

            Bob,
I can't disagree with you about trying to differentiate numbers on these. It can be very difficult at times. Sometimes the numbers weren't centered properly when struck so it looks incomplete. Or worse yet it looks like a completely different number.
By the way, nice Maybauer set. This is the first packet I have ever seen. Nice score.

              Hi Chet,
What i love about WAF is that its a coming together of minds all specialising in their different subjects of the Third Reich that float their boat,Sindri is obviously the guy to talk to when it comes to the OFM.Here we have a medal made in the hundreds of thousands with all slight variations to there make up,some come stamped and you look at it and see that number clear as day no problem and don't have to ask other than look it up on the net.If you don't recognise that indistinct makers mark like this one,it has you sitting scratching your head and frustration creeps in,now if i had the eyes i had when i was 20 then no problem but at 56 trying to spot (for the most part) subtle differences in the make up of the medal is a bridge to far for me
So comm'on Sindri please put me out of my misery, this no fun

Glad you like the packeted Meybauer Chet, its a 1st for me too

              All the Best
              Bob

Haha 56 years is no age, it late teens IMO.

Yes, the question was, is it an OM50 or OM60?

The maker 50 never made the Ostmedaille; therefore only the OM60 is listed in the Database or other "correct" sources. So I thought the deciphering of the maker mark would be straight forward as you would not find any 50 marks to compare it with

But you got it right anyway, it's an; OM60 / Katz & Deyle / Pforzheim.
