It is without any doubt a post war addition.
      It is a nonsense.

      My books:

      - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
      - THE SS TK RING
      - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
      - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
      - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

      and more!

ok..... it is, at least what the material is concerned, possible to find out the density of the metal. I have the same badge once more without stamp, so the stamped version should be more heavy. I will do an investigation for this..... But anyway, I never heard about a silver made beadge for the Treue Dienste.

ok.... here is the result, for those who are interested: After I asked the seller for the weight of the supposed "silver"-made badge it has about less then 20 g. My version, which is probably made from brass has 21 g. A silver masde badge would have about 24 g with identical dimensions. For me it was a clear case of attempted fraud.

Ian, give the man some credit for actually thinking outside the box and adressing the problem accordingly

              cheers

                Cheers, Ian.

....to be honest. In between I believed the story from a "Juweler-made-exemplar" but to be sure I checked this story with the weight investigation which brought the story to colapse.... Thank you all for your valuable posts !

                  best greetings
