    Brass clasp with 1935 date?

Anybody seen a clasp like this before?
Made of solid brass (pics are washed out but I wanted to get crisp detail of it), and engraved with the date "1935" I've never known what it is?
I found an old pic of a vet grouping and saw another amongst the items with what appears to be a "1939" date on it.

Any help with what this might be for would be appreciated

    Cheers

I have never seen one before the the number "1" doesn't look German to me.

      Hi Stan,
I agree the date looks more western than German.

I've been searching many leads in regards to what it might be and why it was with german vet finds, etc and the closest thing I've been able to find is a boy scout medal with a bar on the top of it (which is not the same but similar).

I'm thinking it may be for some organisation that went overseas and was awarded a medal to commemorate the event. Maybe a swimming team, boyscouts, tennis event, or something like that where a German contingent travelled to compete.

Below is the boy scout medal I found, as I said the bar is not the same but similar in it's setup.
I'll keep searching and maybe oneday it will appear somewhere!
