At least you don't need any sort of magnification device to check out the makers mark.....

Hello,
I would like to add that the cross is a very old fake that began to appear in the early 1980's and even showed up in a couple of reference books one of them was by Mr. Ailsby.
I have a 1985 or 86 issue of Info Magazine that discusses that fake in some detail. That L/12 hallmark and others like it was the reason why that maker mark meant death to so many pieces in the 1980's.
