    Ostmedal with JFS packet

I was unable to find an example of the marked packet, so I'm unsure of its originality. Also, not sure if the medal and packet go together, though I got them together many years ago. Anyone recognize these?

      Hi Kevin,

Can’t help you with the medal, but the packet is a fake unfortunately.

Wait for the expert but nothing about that set gives me the impression of being one-looker original. I agree on the packet for sure.

Thank you, gents. The medal appears to be heavily lacquered. It's very smooth and shiny.

            Hello,

The pouch is as you already know a repro.
The medaille is bad also I am sorry.

There is a very very faint possibility that it was heavily polished, and painted afterwards. So an "abused" original but that not much more worth than a repro anyway.
The ribbon and suspension ring look also off, but would need better pics.

            All the best
            Sindri

              Kevin,
I purchased one of these as a reproduction several years back. It had the same type of finish that your example shows. I put it in a vice and bent it severely. The finish peeled off the base metal in pieces.

Haha! That's brutal. I'm thinking of shooting mine and calling it a relic. Lol
