Medal bar for review

always difficult to determine when a medal bar was assembled. However, I see matching pin and hook, nice ribbon folding, matching ageing of ribbons and almost same condition of both medals, hence I give thumbs up!

True but this is the crux of it. I do not want post war assembled medal bars in my collection.

For me as well that is why I am asking 2nd opinions. That in combination with the fact that the medal bar shows very little age.

Same; curious about that catch. Going to look through some and see if can match good/bad. Think OP is right to be concerned about this one.

They are un-faultable, however the one that started this thread seems to have a flimsy pin/hook assembly.

IMHO I can't tell if it's right or wrong, but my gut tells me that if it were me I'd try and find one with some aging to it.

I very much agree with you but from time to time I buy medal bars from one of my friends who dont collect at all but just reconstruct in Germany.... sometimes they bring really mint medal bars. I dont say this is the case but in general it is possible. Afterall, they were usually ment for just one purpose and then stored.

The catch and pin are certainly very unusual.As for condition I wouldn't be too concerned they were never worn on a daily basis so you can find ordensspange in very good condition especially if they have been stored correctly.
