Just an ordinary medal bar

Hello to all,
Just picked up this three-place medal bar on Friday. A rather common grouping perhaps. Nothing scarce on this bar. But still, a medal bar belonging to some unknown soldier that did his duty over the course of two World Wars. Pretty incredible! I can't even imagine what it would of been like to fight in the First World War, survive, and then 21 years later, having to do it all over again.

Hello Scott,

Yes, pretty nice condition. Just a bit of surface rust to the Iron Cross and Hindenburg Cross. Also, a little rust staining to the ribbons. The bar probably got wet at one time and the steel mounting hardware underneath rusted a bit, leaving some stains on the ribbons.

I like these types of bars. To me they reflect the common man doing his duty because he was called upon to do it and answered the call. He wasn't there for self-aggrandisment.
