Hello,
I got a call from a toy collector who thought he had a German "war wounded" medal. He was pretty close and I purchased the pictured example.
It is marked 65 (Klein and Quenzer). It is solid zinc with some of the ubiquitous "zink pest" mainly confined to the reverse.
The majority of the gold wash has either worn away or been absorbed into the zinc.
As for now, I don't have any problems with the piece. But if others see something wrong, please let me know, as I am far from an authority on badges.
Thank you in advance!
William
