It’s not only the different assembly number but more the fact that this is a type I stainless blade in a type II knife. This level of mixing major parts is known on SMF knives. It is IMO possible that it was improvised during period but these kind of things are difficult to say and probably make little difference to most anyway.

A few days ago, I got another gravity knife
from the collector.
This is also type 2 of SMF.

Hi Rabbit Indy, this one you posted last is postwar commercial piece from 50ties. It is easy to recognize it: Logo on the blade and blade is made again from rostfrei material (ww2 type II gravity knife had made blade from carbon steel), next sign is the metal part of body has added new improvment – the small metal reinforced piece. This improvment after war should stopped the very known moving blade in open position. The another main sign of the commercial post war pieces is missing acceptance stamp or rbnr. code on the spike. I bet on your knife and on its spike is not any acceptance stamp or rbnr. Code. There are another smaller signs but i thing these three main signs i just wrote are enough. Jiri

What the hell, Really?
I paid $450 and bought it. Although the prices a bit cheap.
Certainly, there is no RB number stamp on the spike.
I had been concerned about this point since the time of purchase.

I learned very much.
