Maybe the paint on the bolt has a more gloss finish than the flat matt paint on the shell.

JMHO but may just be some reflection. If you look at the other FJ helmet the bolt appears to match the helmet finish

I agree. I think it's the angle the helmet's at in relation to the daylight on it when the pic is taken.

Great looking helmets nonetheless.
