New lid to review

Here is a fj lid of a friend of mine. He is a bit afraid of your though about it.
He got this lid (and the second wich follows) in 1993 from a italian collector

Hi,

I'm no expert but IMHO the paint and bird look wrong . Has it been oiled? Lets wait for the guy's who know what they are talking about to clear this one up.

Sorry Phil,

Both paint and decal are bad. Looks like a restored shell. Can't tell about the liner without seeing it.

I agree about bad decal and repainted shell.

So far, the chinstrap looks fake too. That metal fitting is wrong and the look of the chinstrap bothers me. Would have to see more.

Early liner band in aluminum, with early markings on the liner. Not original to that shell, from what I see. Would have to see more of the liner to be sure about it though.

Hi Phil, I still can't tell on the liner. That chinstrap looks bad. The liner band looks very bright and new. The shell looks like is was pretty rusted before the paint job. Are the liner pads soft or hard?

It could be that the liner, liner band and straps are bad.

It's all the pics i have for the moment. The pads are hard and the liner looks thicker than my DD one (previous thread).
