A seller i know very well personally, is offering this helmet. I know the pics are not great, new ones coming in soon. Im thinking about buying it, so just to be sure, i would like some more trained eyes, assuring me that: yes, this is the real deal. I have been out of this collecting game for a while and we are talking quite some money here so i can use all the help i can get!

Helmet has been on an attic ever since the war, and recently popped up. I will contact the seller again tommorow to see if i can get some additional info and make additional photos. Helmet still has the liner, and seems to be in decent shape.

So far seller told me:
young couple is clearing out their old family house. The guy knew his grandfather was in the war, and is certain this helmet belonged to him. Helmet has never been messed with, was bought by the seller last week.

Either way I doubt very much the authenticity of this piece as the decal rings alarm bells loud and clear right away

Tomnl didn't make up the story, he is just the messenger. He's asking for our help.

Better to do this before purchasing than afterwards...

So far the camo, decal, wire, bolts, and shape of the shell indicate a cheap fake.

Indeed, i gain nothing from the story. I used to collect mildly, a long time ago. Didnt immediately spotted this one as a fake, so i guess i forgot everything i learned. Well i know enough now, to just stay far away from this one!

De hele helm, maar dan ook in elk onderdeel, heeft nooit iets van de 2e W.O.-oorlog gezien . Een complete fake/copy.
