My latest find (FJR 3 and FJR 15 Vet)

Here is my latest find straight from a Vet of FJR 3 and FJR 15. He fought on Sicilly, Monte Cassino, Normandy and the Bulge.

The first pic is his para badge award doc signed (facsimile) by Kastner

    EK 2 doc

Here is his EK 2 doc. He got it during his fighting action in the so called "Wespennest-Stellung" at the Newa river (Leningradfront). Th reason was that he participated in a counter attack on October 17, 1941. The signature is (in my opinion) by Eric Petersen, the commanding officer of Fliegerdivision 7.

      Ek1

Here is the EK 1 doc for fighting around the Bat. Gefechtsstand near Carcacci on Sicily. Is this signing original or facsimile by Student? In my opinion original. Any other opinion?

        Lw Gab

The last one is the ground assault badge award doc in a very neat variation. The facsimile Heidrich signature is almost invisible. He got it during the fighthing at Cassino. This vet also got the black and the silver wound badge as well as the close combat clasp in bronze and silver. Unfortunatley those docs have not been issued and only a Soldbook entry was made. The Soldbook did not make it and went as a war booty to a GI.

              Also very interesting

Another very unique thing is that the vet brother-in law was part of the operation to free the Duce on Grand Sasso. he was a pilot and his name is Heiner Lohrmann. This is the guy on the left photo.

                    highly decorated

The left shot shows the vet with his close comabt clasp in silver. The right shot has been taken during the advance of FJR 15 in the battle of the bulge near Tintange, Luxembourg.

Very nice photos and documents Jürg!

That style of Erdkampf document is my favorite.

Could you enlarge that photo of him wearing the tunic while home on leave? Not sure it is a tropcial tunic in tan, but it is not a standard 4-pocket in wool. Would like to see more detail of that one.

The portrait photo is very nice! He is wearing a mint splinter step-in and DD M38.

This uniform photo has me baffled. Jürg has kindly sent me this enlargement to view. He is not wearing a tan tropical tunic. Also note the collar tabs and NCO tress present on the tunic. Unusual.... Opinions.....
