Interesting photo of splinter grenade bags and sixcell pouch on the belt

Hi,

I found on the internet this interesting photo, where is fj soldier with rare splinter grenade bags and even with rare sixcell pouch hanged on the belt. It looks the mp40 pouch could be blue color. Any tips about location? Maybe someone can read the map

Tropical uniforms, so could be Sicily, but likely Italy. Can't tell what color the 6-pocket pouch is. Likely to be green/ olive. Few pouches are really blue (web straps), some were gray, etc. Ordnance colors.

Note the damage to the green cover band.

Looks like the guy on the left is wearing an "experimental" smock with flare pouch pockets sewn to the upper smock arm? Now, I am getting old and my eyes are not that sharp as they once do, so... please confirm!!
