      Hi Steve,

      I disagree. Perhaps a 43, but I doubt "very" early which I'd put at mid 42. I'd like to see the bird too.

        I put it at late 43. Have seen some dated 10-43 exactly like this one.

          You are right...I should have said "early" not "very early". I think it is the type that immediately followed the "splinter over olive" 3rd patterns. 1943 sounds good. I had an identical one once. It also was only size marked.
          I understand the eagle is blue wool and factory stitched.
