    Kampfgruppe FFA.2.Batterie?

    Hello,

    I have a document for an EK2 awarded to a person of the “Kampfgruppe FFA.2.Batterie”. The document was awarded in March 1943.

    Please your help on what the kampfgruppe is and where were they located in the first months of 1943?

    Thx,
    HJ

    PS this person was in 1945 a member of the Führer FLAK Regiment of the FSJ-Panzerkorps “Hermann Göring” and went missing in March 1945.

      FFA = Führer-Flak-Abteilung

      The Wolfschanze was protected by I./Flak-Regiment 604. This unit was re-named into Führer-Flak-Abteilung in 1942. It was supposedly organically part of Flak-Regiment „Hermann Göring“. When the Führer HQ was not active at Wolfschanze, the Abteilung was used on the front. During December 1942 to March 1943 the Abteilung was on the easternfront as Kampfgruppe-Führer-Flak-Abteilung. It fought at the Donez river, in the area of Millerowo. The Abteilung suffered heavy losses.

      In Oktober 1944 the Abteilung became part of the Führer-Flak-Regiment. According to the book "Panzergrenadier-Division „Grossdeutschland“ und ihre Schwesterverbände (Horst Scheibert, 1973)" the Führer-Flak-Regiment was part of the Führer-Begleit-Brigade in December 1944.
      I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
      Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.
