    Stag grip gravity knife

    Can anyone help me with this knife. I found an example (like the one shown) in a shop but I guess I'm not using the correct name for a search. It's marked Rostfrei & Solingen I believe on the opposite side of the blade. Thanks!

    Hello. The design is not even close to a actual German issue gravity knife to begin with. Martin

          A wonderful knife. I wish I could find one sitting in a shop.

            everything with the letters BDGM is postwar products as opposed to DRGM ! BDGM stands for bundesrepublic deutschsland gebrauchsmuster and DRGM stands for deutsches reich gebrauchsmuster ! just an easy way to determine before and during war, or postwar timeline! nice knife anyway!

              You have transposed the letters which appear in the initial image.

              They are not 'BDGM' but appear to be 'DBGM'.

                  D.B.G.M = Deutsches Bundes-Gebrauchsmuster
                  The utility model (Gebrauchsmuster) is the little brother of the patent.

                    do you mean of the D.R.G.M. ?

                    I've allways been told D.B.G.M was postwar !

                    anyway thanks for correcting me if I'm wrong!

                      Its not that simple, as DRGM was also used postwar for some years...
                      So DRGM is no automatic proof for being pre 45

                        True ! Belgian army used Esbit stove until at least the 70's (maybe later but I'm not sure) which were marked DRGM.

                          A simple solution which made it easy to understand what this knife is.

                            thanks for the correction ! one learn something new every day! when did they stop using DRGM ? as western germany was now a republic , and not a reich,the "R" make no sence post '45 ! just wondering ! I have allways used DRGM to determine pre may '45 , but I see now its more complicated as that!
