FJR6 camo gas mask set out of the family

"There is only one happiness in life, to find the real camo stuff when you dont expect it."

A friend of mine from bavaria told me from a neighbour who is planning to tear off his horse stables. There he found two gas masks with cases in a stone roofing tale. The family havent been there for decades and didnt even know that these gas masks existed. The grandson (30 years old) mentioned that his grandfather was in France during the ww2 but couldnt deliver further informations. My friend knows from my hobby and as the grandson wanted to get rid of the masks he organized a phone conversation and without having any pics i bought both masks for 50 euro. The package arrived and my eyes popped out of my head when i realized i just scored a camo set. The Feldpost number clearly pointed to the FJR 6 and i remembered the grandsons words who said that the grandfather took service in france. I called him back and asked him for pictures of the horse stables and of photos from the Vet. The finding place within these Stones explains the detoriation of the top of the cans as these were exposed to the humid environment from the outside. Please note the identical patina of both lids. Both masks that have been stored inside and survived in perfect condition. Unfortunately the owner Gefreiter Albrecht from the second can is an unknown Person without a relationship to the Wagner family.
Here are some period pics of Stabsobergefreiter Alfred Wagner.
Mr. Wagner jr. will ask his grandmother for further informations. He is pretty sure that even pictures from his time in france still exist.

    To be continued....

Within the last 3 months i was able to pull out 3 yellow/green camo cans out of german attics (none of them out of a collection). All 3 of them are Luftwaffe related.

Great finds Hagen! And with photos.

Here is mine, but my FPN is 30010, which unfortunately does not appear to be a FJ formation. Named to a Unteroffizer.
