2 rings - do you know something ...

i don't know in which forum it belongs - but because the eagle is looking like a luftwaffe eagle, i think i will post it here.
got them together from privat (don't have mms) - my question is now, what are they, and what is a fair price when i sell them.
thanks much for your help in advance christian

Hi Christain, these type of rings were very popular with German soldiers and could be bought from barrack canteens or from jewelers stores. I would agree that the first ring would be designed for a Luftwaffe soldier.

These are much copied today (the one with the eagle that is) but I think yours are fine.

I don't have a value for you, sorry. But the one with the monogram would be worth less than the one with the eagle.

      Cheers, Ade.

With all the fakes being offered on the market, rings are tough to tell anymore.

I do like what I see on both of these, so I think they are fine. As for value, it is also a tough call, but I would not value them at more than $100 for the pair.

The Luft.ring is a good well know design. Can not tell from your photos so can not comment on this one being original to the period...
but,,even if worn you should be able to see an acorn in each lower corner of the front. There also should be detail when you look into/under the eagles left wing, and the field the the eagle is on is not smooth. The high points on the ring are the eagles head and the eye,,brow, and mouth could be worn smooth.
Remember that even in very worn condition you should at least be able to tell that the ring had the quality and detail when it was first produced.. and yes 'they' reproduce this exact ring very well but it has so far been let down by the details and that it is made too heavy when compared to an original...

The signet ring looks like a nice original. To a collector of art deco type jewlery/rings that piece could bring $100, maybe more, just got to be in the right place at the right time! .. , G.

I would personaly be willuing to pay more than 100$ just for the LW ring, if I was ceratain of its origin. I think many collectors would feel the same way.
