    FJ subdued eagle helmet

I know where this one is going, but opinions on the helmet itself would be
appreciated. The one thing that was interesting about this decal was how nicely it fit. It was like it has been there for a long time.
    Thanks, Paul

yes it looks nice, but still postwar applied IMO,

I don't belive they are ever applied during the war, do belive they were made pre 45, but just no time to apply them

          I agree.

Plus, the wear of the helmet does not match up with the wear on the decal.

Wow, I think you would have an uphill battle trying to prove this particular subdued decal was even pre 1945. The detail is terrible.

Decal clearly applied over rust patches

Yes, it should immediately be obvious that the helmet's surface has heavy wear while the decal has none. As Steve pointed out, the decal is even applied over a rust patch. In addition, the decal does not have a laquer over coat, and the decal has details that I do not like.
