Luftwaffe hook for parachute????

I hope this is the right place to put this thread. I have this "thing" in my collection for a while. I was told that it was a hook to drop things (or Fallschirmjagers)with.
It's marked WaA and 1937.

WHo can help me? What is it??

sorry but this hook is not for parachute.
It is an incomplete hook used for stretch telephone's cable.

It's a signal equipment, this hook is is for telephonic lines, to hang or to take the lines out of trees...
