28 Panel Chute and Deployment PAck

    Hi

Never ran into one and I am surprised by how much room it takes up

The main lines are gone, but remain intact at top vent, cool camo print.

If anyone can tell me anymore about it that would be great.

    Best,
    D

28 panels is what a FJ RZ20 chute has. So, that is likely to be what you have.

          Hi D
You got an innerbag and RZ20 canopy from the Maker Schroeder & Co Zwickau Sudetenland from about late 1943. What do you say Patrick?
          Nice canopy part

You want it at SOS Willi, this thing is taking up my entire room and I cannot pack it into the deployment bag lol

Jan, Ok,if I understand correctly this small deployment bag fits into a larger pack, I did just notice the number on the deplyment bag matches the number on the chute.

              Hi D
The "outer bag" is attached to the RZ20 harness, and folds around the inner bag(which you have), which are drawn out (open) with the staticline that are attached up in the plane.
That the numbers match tells us for sure that it´s a RZ20 "Sprungschirm für die Fallschirmtruppen". The number match up with other numbers I have on file from around late 43. The canopy can also be packed/used as a medium cargo chute.

Thank you Jan for the info on the numbers matching, now let me try to carefully get this back in the chute bag

Really neat to handle it compared to uniforms and medals.

If I am not mistaken having a chute packed professionally costs a bit of money.

I knew it was an RZ20 canopy and deployment bag, I did tell you that last week if you recall, but its always best to get a second opinion

Yes, no need to get it professional packed, will not raise its value. Also, you can pack it on your own. But to make it smaller you can just push it inside, and punch it from time to time, to get more of the canopy in.

David, you did not answer my last question on the serial numbers and I did not want to bother you on the book of faces.
