    Fallschirmjäger helmet relic

    Hello to all place this relic helmet, after treatment with oxalic acid is out the original paint, could be covered with a layer of yellow paint to camouflage? now it oxidized.

    nice flared rim shell, what could be camo is more stubborn corrosion/staining that did not come off with the oxalic IMO,

      Hello Yellow oxide is rust? After treatment with oxalic came a lot of original paint.

        No any evidence of camo . I see only rust spots and paint underneath, cleaning by acid made this shell more interesting imo.
        Looking for FJR2 combat pics in Russia.

            I agree.
            Lot of green paint but no camo, just rust remains.
            Leave it as is: if you try to remove all rust, you risk to remove the paint as well.
