This particular smock was sent to me around that time, too, for inspection.
And of course I also have seen this type (this smock?) in the museum at Avranches.

Thanks to all who replied. It is good to hear others have seen at least one other of these. I had the chance to buy this particular smock ( as did Patrick, obviously ) in 2005. It was not expensive, but of course I didn't buy it. I never once believed it was genuine, but was very surprised by the use of genuine parts like RAPID zips and PRYM 6 poppers. Someone did a very good job of making it. Perhaps they were trying to imitate the rare tropical smocks , but didn't realise they only existed in M40 form ?

So it looks like you won't be getting a present this year, John. Perhaps I can find you a pair of tropical side-laced boots instead !

      p.s. Gustav - Wow !

Hey Steve, if you find a pair, send em to Gustav, I don't think he has any.

I too was offered this in 2005 at Beltring (I think that was where the photo was taken, looks like it)

After a good look at it, I turned to EnglishBob (Robert) and we both said at the same time, nah!
