Here's a comparison to mine. It looks very similar...except I've never seen such a silver wreath on a GWL para badge before as on the one you show!! Is the eagle brass on a zinc wreath?

My own view is that it is not a real one. Lorenzo's looks spot on.

              Hi,
I'd like to see better pics of the back..mark,hinge and catch..
The area around the hinge and catch sometimes reveals it's a newly cast badge, you can find some raised lines there the way the mold was made.
Wreath can be silver if someone cleaned it up thoroughly.
Also possible is that it is a redone badge, hard to say, pictures are to faint to find out.
If fake then it's a very clever one.
This one needs more investigation IMO,I can't say yet it's a fake.

              Jos.

                  Hello,

I think it's made by aluminum mixer.

For me there are too much important differences (eagle's beak and wings, the intersection of the garland above and under, the mark, the hinge a bit large to the sides.......) even if can be considereted a very late war time.

I don't know if you have bought it, but with this money you can take one better. Only my opinion

                  Regards

                    Lillegutt,

I would pass on that badge. It does not look right. I have two which look exactly like Lorenzo's. Note the back of the rivets...note the "GWL" stamp...yours is just too sloppy. The pin is too long.......the hinge has some problems and I certainly do not like the color of the wreath...could go on and on.

                    My opinion....is a repro.

I think the opinions voiced here are sound.

What I specifically dont like, is the GWL mark, it is to hard of a strike, and out of proportion. I have never seen a GWL mark like that on any badge, ever.

Someone put a lot of effort into this to fool people. This isnt just some lame bagde with a GWL mark....they went out of their way to mimic a GWL.
