    FJ helmet and cover

Gents , the friend of mine picked up this helmet for me at SOS . I'm sure some of you already seen it there ..I like such items , only the bad news about poor storage in wet place which ruined some points of helmet and cover ,,,

Is this Italian camo cloth ?
I'm not bother about authenticy helmet+cover and see that they were together since the war , but would like know more about this use /
I mean this kind of camo cover , does anybody seen similar before ?? Cover looks very well made ..some kind of field-made covers ?? Interesting that they mainly repeat construction of original FJ helmet cover .

previos owner took the cover off from the helmet - I think he wanted check the helmet itself , I would't do this if it was untouched ..

Factory made for sure. One I know is condition like yours (exept the damage on top), the other almost unwornt.
Book has no title so far, but once out (this year) will post the info here ;-)

Thanks for the info , also will wait for the book
I would share the helmet itself , it's looks very old combat vet , like I said before it was DD sometime , tricolor washed off , also lot№ is the same like on one of my DDs .
Liner is the smaller size than shell itself 71 when the liner is 68 , changed by soldier during the war ..also named twice - Mert to the rim and penciled Bihler on the top pad ..

For sure one of my centerpieces.. Another SD helmet with its cover, they were together since the war and both in much better condition than previous set

Cover has couple of small wartime repairs and holds the form easy without supporting by the helmet. Enjoy, gents
