hospital admission of little importance (it is not marked in the soldbuch his wound in Rimini on September 14th, then probably a slight wound without admission) interesting the feldpost 15859 (2. Kompanie Krankentransport-Abteilung 541 with the 90 Pz.Gren.Div) of February 1945, taken between Imola and Bologna

it is in remembrance of the Canadian soldiers before they revised the change from the Greek soldiers, and in remebrance of the priest of San Lorenzo a Monteh who provided for the burial of many German, Canadian and Greek soldiers near the Church)
                      ....

a Canadian Military Medal for Bravey during a fire fight at San Lorenzo in Strada for Sergeant Rodesse Duhaime, of Espanola, Canada.... (enclose Link, a little mistake, not river Moreno but river Marano the river of Riccione)

On the night of September 5-6, 1944, during the battle for the Moreno River, “B” Company of the Royal Canadian Regiment attacked the area of a church at San Lorenzo in Strada. Corporal Duhaime was a section commander in 12 platoon, which was ordered to attack the church itself, in spite of heavy machine gun fire. Duhaime led his section, determined to break through the forward posts, which they did, killing some Germaons and wounding many others, and were able to enter the church.

“During the fierce hand-to-hand fighting which ensued, this non-commissioned officer was conspicuous by his complete disregard for danger. Duhaime repeatedly sought out his enemy and killed at least four enemy soldiers. Noticing a parachutist aiming a faustpetrone into the church door, Duhaime fired his machine gun, but discovered he had run out of ammunition. Without hesitation, he rushed the German, grappled with him and tore the bazooka from his hands, striking the man over the head with his own weapon. Duhaime unquestionably saved his section and platoon further casualties.”

For his outstanding gallantry, Lance Corporal Rodesse Duhaime was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery and promoted to sergeant
