    Hi Matt,
This is not one of those from the recent German batch.
This is built like a standard army cover with 5 panels.

    Regards,
    Steve

        Not these ones Matt.
The German covers ( 20 tan/waters ) have their own thread on this forum somewhere.

        Regards,
        Steve

          Hey Matt,
I also have been looking at this para cover. Many believe that they are no good, I must say this one for some reason I like. The origins? Well its the same source all the new tropical headgear/shoulderboards/hj m43 caps/Dot SS camo pants came from.

What do others think about this cover?

Those covers are not original. The draw string is a clear give away. That guy, who I met at the Max and bought some stuff from, found that stuff about 30 years ago in storage in Ca. That does not mean they were stored in some veterans home. Those fakes covers have been around since the 60's...I know cause my dad bought one then for $5. Original fabric, that's about it. And, I do mean the exact same style....styled after a Heer cover. This one sold for $266, so no one who knows their stuff was involved in the bidding.

How can people be so dumb? Imagine spending $266 dollars on that crap.

Willi is correct, the fabric is original. The authentic fabric is probably why some buy these hoping for the best.

Does the same apply for a regular helmet cover also? Made in the 60's from original material?

Aside from the period made covers in this material( if they exist)
