    Gravity Knife Question

We're all gravity knives waffen marked (eagle with number) on the marlin spike? Or we're some marked on the blade? Thanks in advance.

I would think waffen stamp is always stamped on the spike, and company logo or Rb,nr is on the blade.
Try asking the dagger forum, there may be someone who can answer the question best, Jack.

I have owned many gravity knives & never had one with the proof mark anywhere but on the spike.

I have owned hundreds and only waffenamt on the spike, none on the blade.

Ditto. The only numbers on the blades I have ever encountered was on take down versions and then it was on all the internal parts ...usually a 2 digit sr# and not usually visible till the blade is removed. Maybe someone is faking them with the numbers on the blades now...I would be skeptical ...so post it anyway if you can. Ron is Rat On. This 0000 version is well made anyway...attention to details excellent...maybe the one posted is a factory prototype? Ok I get it now ...this is a rare exception original ..still think it should be blued ...so maybe the finish is special. Gary B have you been offered one with the spike numbers on the blade? if so post a photo if you have one.

It most likely is. It is entirely stainless and therefore not blued, nor were some parts plated like non-take down examples. It was never waffenamt'ed because it was never intended as an issue piece. FYI, other early take down knives also have stainless (unblued) blades.

The larger point is, never say "always only this way." There most likely are genuine exceptions.

Thanks to all for the comments. Apparently from other responses I received, most are marked at the base of the marlin spike which is what I have seen on most pictured Gravity knives on dealer sites. A few early pieces were marked on the blade near the MM.

In my files I can only find one case with LuftAmt on the blade (mistake? I have no knowledge if also on the spike)...
                        Best regards,

                            Hi,

Thanks for posting a picture. I was told that early versions by this maker were waffen marked on the blade above the MM. Most others are marked on the marlin spike.
