But a late war Fliegerbluse will have the badges later added ?
Only the eagle will be applied at the factory ?
The collar badges and the FJ badge have to be added by the soldier himself ?
You will never find such a jacket with all the badges Factory applied ...
The collar patches are the typical Filz late quality production , but usual question , added when ?

Nick, plenty of Fliegerblusen had factory applied collar tabs. A number of unissued ones in collections have factory applied tabs. But not all. Others had machine sewn tabs added at the unit level. Others had tailor hand applied tabs. Common practice, even today, would be to hand apply them from the front and not like these. If the tabs are even original, which I have my doubt's. Era hand applied tabs look like they have been there for a while. These don't.

The one John added the link to has hand applied tabs, but the gulls go through the collar, which was also common practice due to promotions. And I suspect the tabs are properly hand applied. I have yet to see a postwar application process where someone added a blank tab and added gulls once applied. They just add a tab with gulls.

My father told me they always had squadron tailors: military, civilian, or local. He served in Russia, Greece, Italy, and in Germany. Of course there are exceptions, but when many things today are claimed to be the exception, that is a warning sign.

The cloth jump badge is a completely different matter.

I was thinking to late war ones ...!
Of course there's a lot of Fliegerbluse with factory applied collar patches but i'll be sure of that for early or mid war ones but not for late war ones ?
Regarding the gulls going through the collar , totally logical of course !
Regarding the period they have been applied , this jacket was never worn and they may be didn' t have the time to go "into the wool" as worn ones ?
