MOB Nummer and FJ Help?

Hi,

Just received information about my grandad from WASt. It states his Erkennungsmarke as 217 457 then goes on to say his MOB Nummer is 1291-3/Flg A. R. 61 can anyone help me as to what this means?

Also, he is listed as being 12 Kompanie Fallschirm Jäger Regiment 9
Unterstellung: 3. Fallschirmjäger Division
Einsatzraum: Bretagne


Again I am confused (more so because I cannot read German) but does this mean he was in 12 fallschirmjäger or 3 fallschirmjäger?


Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

This MOB Number belongs to 12th Company - Paratroper Regiment 9
This Regiment belongs to the 3rd Paratrooper Divison.
The 3rd Divison (and also your grandfather) fought in the Bretagne / France.

Your Grandfather was in the 12th Regiment / 3rd Divison.
