Cheap salty late war FJ jumpsmock on estand

Did anybody see that salty late war FJ sumpftarn jump smock on Estand yesterday
which was offered and immediately sold for only $700 ...!!
(no eagle, shortened, flare gun pouch removed, faded, still nice with RBNr 1944!)
    Can't find the thread now...

Maybe the new owner can post images of it? Congrats!

Me too.... Did anybody keep pictures to show here? What an opportunity (for lower budget collectors).
A mint splinter one is currently offered on stand for over $14K!
The $700 price sure sounded attractive! Gone now...either sold or pulled from stand to be offered again at a higher price?

It's very important to know if the issues were war time or post war ..

If post war, why bother ?

Then even 700 sounds too much for me.

Sir here is no way to know that for sure ,but this one was a typical war time rework,at last for me as i have owned and seen a few modified like this one was.

I saw it. As mentioned the smock was shortened, eagle removed and flare pouches removed. I thought all likely post war but still a good price. Put an eagle on it and it would display nicely for lower budget collectors.

I agree there is no way of knowing when that FJ Jump smock was modified. I have three of them in my collection which I believe were wartime modified. They still retain many of the features mentioned. I even posted several photos on my FJ thread showing at least two modified and shortened smocks and I remember US Signal Corps photos showing a POW arriving in the USA wearing a modified smock.

The important thing is that the modified smock is original therefore of historical value, and collectable so I don't understand why you as a moderator and Lifetime member would say...."Don't Bother" considering the cost of a FJ smock today that isn't modified $700 is a bargain.
