    DD early para

Hi there, since I managed to put in a post with pictures,
I thought I'd try another one!
Here's my DD para with the simplified balck metal claw teeth
buckle. It's a 68 shell, with a 56 liner and is very well preserved.
    Hope you like it, Morten

A question, does anyone know what L458 595 stands
for? This is in picture 4, is it an area code where the
helmet was issued or something completey different
          last picture, Morten

Hi Morten, thanks for posting your great helmet. Everything looks textbook correct. The "L458595" could be a Luft Feldpost number, but would be unusual for it to be stamped on such an early pre-war helmet.

              Hi Morten!

OK, if I had the decision: that helmet or my mother-in-law (who is a very nice 80 year old lady) No doubt about, I would take the helmet

So Morten what´s about a trade?

Just kidding (or not?)! Great lid

Hi guys, thanks for the nice words, would love to do the trade
but as I already have a Scottish mother-in-law and Spanish
                    father-in-law, I don't think I could handle any more!
By the way have been trying to get one of these helmets for a long time
and it cost me an SS helmet cover, A SD para helmet & cash!
But I think it was worth it!
                    Regards Morten

                      Morten,,

You have two fantastic FJ lids. I would have traded off all sorts of SS Junk for that helmet Bill

                      Yannis,

Who told you Gerd was house trained???? - Bill

That's a lovely example of a DD. The liner is in a remarkable state of preservation. No melting of the rubber at all. In regard to the L458595 (if that is an "L"), it's too long to be a Feldpost number. FPNs always have five digits, not six. The number appears to be related to the Heisler firm and part of their inkstamp stamp. First time I've seen this.

                              Morten,

To see a DD lid is always a joy, but in this condition it is ab-so-lute pleasure!!!! It must be very satisfying to obtain something like this. Looking at the liner and chinstraps I doubt if it was ever worn.

Enjoy it (and the DAK one as well)!

                              Frank.
