    M38 prices

What would be the going price for a mid-late war close to mint M38 slotted bolt para helmet? I've got two para lids and am contemplating letting one go to free up funds, but, I'd like to know the price before I toy with the idea any further!

    Cheers,
    James

James, Bill shea has one on his site for $3550, but i would doubt that a private collector could acheive that sort of price. My thoughts are if you can make a profit that's enough. Tim.

      Tim,

Thanks for the reply. I saw that helmet as well, but thought I'd throw the question out there all the same.

      Cheers,
      James

I posed this question a couple of years ago, and had people contacting me via email saying that they'd like to buy it. However, I never really did get a good idea for the price on it, even from those wanting it.

Anyone like to offer up an opinion now, please?

        Cheers,

        James

I think Bill would ask $4500+ these days.

For a ND M38 late war in close to mint condition this price was fair for a dealer (todays point of view).
Round about $3550 were 2830 Euro at that time, $3550 would be 2751 Euro by todays exchange rate.
Billy sold me a mint as mint can be ND late war slotted alu bolts for $4k in 2005 (fair as well).

IMHO are the todays values (for complete unmessed helmets without serious damages on liner and straps)

M38 ND slotted bolts light worn 3000+ Euro,
            M38 ND mint 3500+ Euro,
M38 SD slotted bolts worn 3600+ Euro,
M38 SD vented bolts worn 4000+ Euro,
M38 SD vented bolts near mint 5000+Euro,
            DD 9000-12000+Euro
            M36/M37 and Army priceless

            and camos

think you can start around 5000+ Euro for a real one and I******180;ve heard about a 15.000 Euro camo lid recently .

Oh yes........forgett the wired ones or covers...... priceless as the M36/M37 lids

                5100 Euro............has it been sold?

Steve, I was talking about prices you******180;ll be able to sell for, not about prices which only show, that you have such an item

There******180;s a US dealer webside (not Billy******180;s), where you can find numerous para lids for sale.
They******180;re hanging on his side since month and the reason is neither that all would be bad nor that nobody would be interest to buy a para lid.

Bob Iqdol has sold a couple over the past year at US$4500. One was in very nice condition & the other came with providence. I doubt you would get anything in good condition from Bill Shea for under $5500-6000 today.

Good worn (mint is something different), half denazified............ I think the price is close to fair.
