Thanks to Akira for sharing these images with us. This first one is of another complete two sided document for the cloth badge. Notice that even as an iterim badge and being issued by the school it still took Fw.Meyer nearly 5 months to receive the badge in cloth. Its interesting that Lt.Mohr was given his on the day he completed the training.Last edited by Eric Queen; 07-28-2002, 05:49 PM.

Prosper, I agree with your analysis. Very well put.
Would like to relate one story from a FJ veteran. The last time I saw him (sadly he passed away a month later) he pulled me aside and told me that he had a secret to share with me. He told me that he had only made 5 jumps at the FJ school in Dreux France at the end of 1943. He served in FJR9. He told me that when he returned to Germany on leave he went and bought a jump badge and wore it...even though he hadn't officially earned it. He returned to his unit with a badge on and was captured in the Normandy area on the 10th of July.
