    Some news 9 (2012)

Hello to all fellow fj collectors ,
Santa brought me last night a very nice present : a splinter smock dated 1944
in very nice condition with period applied eagle .
the smock was already presented in this thread :
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/FORU...d.php?t=631088
many thanks to Chris for his kindness : a great guy
the smock is really in good condition , better as I thought. the colors are very
bright , the metal "rapid "zippers and studs functionnal .
now displayed as soldier in Cassino or somewhere late in Italy :

well the six pouch is really salty , but genuine and comes from Normandy ,
so I like it as it is .
Fell free to comment as usual bye:

              Two infos more:

about the smock's origin , here is what Chris reported about the US vet :
"His name was Glenn Jacob Jones,he was with the 101st airborne, not sure about all of his info do know he was with the same regiment that the band of brothers was about but in different company,he never talked much about it ,but now I wish I had paid more attention when he did,he was also in the Korean war"

              about the tropical Ueberfallhose :
Gran S. told me they were not worn in Cassino , he is right !

Stunning. And great story. Could it be from the Normandy campaign? Battle for Carentan?
