    LBA43 Marking in Paratrooper Pants

I know some of our FJ experts are familiar with the glot of LBA43 marked, unissued paratrooper trousers that were discovered a few years back. It seems most of them, as well as the air I own, have LBA_43, with a month or extra digit.

    An example would be LBA343.

Has anyone seen a stamp like this one, that has large LBA followed by what looks like a handstamped year? Also, do these snaps appear to be good ones?

    regards, Robert

That was easy! Thanks for looking.

I know WUK snaps aren't very popular, but the stampings looked well executed.

        regards, Robert

I believe that the letters are never attached ....
          LBA is wrong , L . B . A is correct .

I've seen LBA without periods between the letters, but I assume there were other points on these markings.

            Thanks again!

Thanks for that Gene. I don't know if the Luftwaffe depots used multiple fonts in 1943 or not, but this doesn't look like yours for certain.

WUK snaps are period, acceptable, and genuine when they look like this.

Robert, I agree with the others. All of the markings, the lining, the snaps including the color of the snap covers, are concerns for me. I suspect additional photos would raise more concerns.

Thanks for posting John. I assume the WUK snaps in a bandoleer (equipment) are the same as those used in trousers (uniforms), and have seen this breed of snap. Great snap of one.

Willi, the pocket size markings, liner material, waist band material, black buttons, and wool looked good to me. The snaps and LBA markings, not so much.

                              Never say never.

Do not like the buckle either Robert.
