M38 shell original?

can anyone help me with this M38 shell that I am looking buy? I know the paint is postwar, but I don't know how to tell an original shell from shape?

save your money, it concerns me that a dealer can even think this is an original shell. an oringinnal sell with no piting no sign of original pain its tolal crap . the are plenty of sites including this forum where you can look at original lids. even listed at the price of a halft desent repro . even a hall of shame for covincing repros stay well away . and do some research best martin.

It is certainly a fake. The rim details, stamped numbers, and the bolt holes are all incorrect.

thank you! May I ask what the rim should look like, I can now see that the markings and bolt holes are bad! Unfortunately for someone, it looks as if it is SOLD!!!
