    Para badge opinions

Would this Para badge with a A maker mark and a small 1 near a rivet be original or a post war copy?Your opinion would be great.
    Thanks

Hi, the photos are not the best, it looks like an Assman Type H in Tom's book. It has pancake rivets and integral hinge and catch to the wreath. It looks like almost all of the finish has gone unless its just the flash of the camera!

You should consider posting in the Luftwaffe badges forum, you will surely get more answers off the experts there. It looks fine to me but they will give you the definitive answer.

            Hi actionoke,

I can only agree with Greg, this is a fine original later-war Assmann. There are very well made fakes of this type of badge, but yours is a fine original. Here is an example of a fake just recently posted for sale on a well-known dealer site:

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
