I'm looking for a nice early war helmet. Can anyone recommend any good dealers that specialise in this area? Or does anyone know of one for sale somewhere?

You have to be ever vigilant, and keep looking. Good examples do not last long on sites. This one sold immediately as it was put up on the site. A great price.

The varnish would have put me off too. Believe the buyer plans to carefully remove it.

I did wonder about buying it and doing the same, but too risky for me.

I'd be interested to see the results when he's finished.

I'll keep looking, I'm sure one will come up. From the prices I'm seeing, I think it will have to be a later war version though.
