Hi all,
I'm currently researching the very early FJ years and what they wore before the introduction of the M38 range of uniforms and equipment.
I know that the jump training of the first volunteers started in January 1936 with 23 RGG members, under the command of Bruno Bräuer, who were to form the cadre for the new FJ Bn. But: What did these men wear during their jump training? Pilot's flight suits? Feldblusen? Civilian stuff? Has anyone seen dated or datable pics of this first intake in jump gear - I only know the one showing these gentlemen in front of a JU52 wearing the Dienstanzug.
And when were the M36 suits introduced? Are there any datable photos from 1936? As far as I know there's only one, produced by Heisler, that survived the war and found it's way into a collection, and this seems to be undated.
If any of you specialists could shed some light on my problems, I'd be very happy.
Thanks in advance
Karl
